AMFT Paid Associateship
PatrickLyra Wilder, LMFT (they/them), seeks postgraduate/pre-licensed AMFTs (registered with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences) with existing clients to build thriving solo TELETHERAPY ONLY practices ready for full operation upon licensure. 

For AMFTs currently without clients but eager to begin building a teletherapy only private practice, consider applying to our below listed Professional Mentorship to start (which may transition into this paid position once clients are secured).

Job Title: Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) - Teletherapy
Position Type: Part-Time, Remote, Teletherapy-Only
Compensation: Profit-sharing model based on client session fees + paid non-client hours totalling 50% of the client’s established session fee.

Ideal candidates will:
-Reserve up to 16 hours per week for this position.
-Employ an eclectic clinical approach, incl. at least one body-based/non-cognitive modality.
-Confidently negotiate finances and fees within a sliding scale of $90–$170.
-Independently learn clinical workflows via written and video tutorials.
-Demonstrate experience with LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, and/or neurodivergent clients.
-Practice cultural humility when occupying dominant group identities (e.g., white, Christian, cisgender, heterosexual).
-Be proficient with tools such as CarePatron (EHR), Acuity (scheduling), Slack (internal messaging), and Adobe Reader/Acrobat (signing BBS paperwork).
-Be tech-savvy, self-sufficient, and enthusiastic about building a teletherapy-only practice.

Position Requirements:
-Onboard 3-5 clients within the first two weeks and build a caseload of 8-10 clients by the end of the first quarter (120 calendar days from start).
-PatrickLyra Wilder LMFT does not provide clients but offers business coaching on marketing strategies.
-Guarantee availability to work a full weekly set of hours: 10 hrs clients, 2.5 hrs paperwork (15 mins per one client hour), 1 hr triadic supervision, 2.5 hrs e-communications (15 mins per one client hour).
-Maintain 12 of those hours as available between 12 PM and 8 PM, Monday to Friday.
-Attend weekly triadic one-hour supervision on Wednesdays 1 PM in a timely fashion.
-Respond to all emails within 24 hours and Slack messages within 6 hours on business days.
-Maintain and pay for liability insurance and CAMFT membership for duration of employ.
-Strong recommendation (not required) to build a website and Psychology Today profile.
-Guarantee working, quality technology (internet & devices).
-Guarantee HIPAA- compliant teletherapy space (can be from home).
-Submit narrative SOAP notes within 24 hours of each session.
-Accept private pay only (no insurance).
-Complete monthly insurance superbills one week after the end of the month.
-Have literacy and skill in utilizing Google software (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
-NEVER use AI in clinical paperwork. 
-Utilize pristine legal & ethical judgment, in consultation with CAMFT legal team.
-Maintain the highest level of professionalism with substitute Clinical Supervisors.

This position is: At-will. Remote/Teletherapy-only. Paid biweekly on a profit-sharing basis. Requires onboarding 3 - 5 existing clients within the first two weeks.

Mentorship Program for AMFTs – Build Your Private Teletherapy Practice

PatrickLyra Wilder LMFT 98562, offers a unique unpaid mentorship program designed to help Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs) develop the skills and infrastructure needed for their solo private teletherapy practice. This program is ideal for AMFTs who do not yet have clients and are looking for guidance on how to build their practice from the ground up.

Key Details:

  • One-hour mentorship sessions will be held every other week for 3 months.

  • Ideal candidates have only 1,000 hours or less.

  • Focuses on essential business skills and practices that center your unique voice.

  • This is not a job or internship, and there is no client work involved in the mentorship. It is purely a skill-building opportunity to prepare for success before and after licensure. 

  • Participants may be offered the opportunity to transition into a paid Associateship with PatrickLyra Wilder LMFT if they successfully secure clients.

  • Must be available biweekly either Tuesdays @ 4 PM or Thursdays @ 2 PM.
